SIG SAUER hired SJPR to launch its new Ammunition division and handle media relations for all ammunition products. Shannon was later entrusted with the launch SIG’s Airgun division and subsequent media relations.  SIG also enlisted her help with the introduction of its revolutionary P365 micro-compact pistol.  In addition to her work with the SIG AIR and Ammunition divisions, she supported the marketing department on the rest of the commercial side of the business for more than six years.

SJPR handled all media relations for Carl Zeiss Sports Optics North America for more than 12 years.  Shannon’s work for Zeiss included spearheading the Zeiss Search for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker – a project that garnered international attention.  Media coverage included the front page of the Wall Street Journal and multiple articles in USA TODAY, the New York Times and Washington Post.  Discovery Channel, National Geographic TV and other media outlets also covered the story.  In all, the search generated more than 250 newspaper and magazine articles that reached more than 62 million people worldwide. 

Richmond Ambulance Authority

SJPR provided media and customer relations services for this world-class EMS system for more than 25 years. Shannon worked closely with area hospitals and news organizations, including crews from Dateline NBC and 20/20, and was a member of the Joint Information Center team handling communications for the 2015 UCI Road World Championships.

Signet Bank

SJPR was retained to help with the multiple communications aspects of the bank’s multi-million-dollar restructuring.  Responsibilities included employee communications, advertising, and community and media relations.  As part of the communications team, Shannon helped in the intensive media training of the bank’s chairman, president, and chief financial officer. She secured interviews for the chairman with media including The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Reuters. Her role continued through the Signet/First Union merger where she worked closely with the First Union communications team to facilitate external and internal communications.

Retained to provide strategic planning and media relations services for clients including McDonald’s, Chippenham Medical Center, and Dominion Energy (Virginia Power)
